Based on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.

How we estimate times · sources and method

Compact vehicles and scenery with large moulded dinosaurs reduce building density. The three central durations are model-specific editorial assessments. Planning ranges extend approximately from 65% to 145%, rounded to quarter-hours; they are not measured experience-level averages or guaranteed limits.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Approximate assembled-model measurements, not packaging dimensions. Allow extra room for handling, moving parts and the display stand. The comparison uses the measured model’s overall footprint, allows a 90° rotation and does not assess stability or shelf load. Source LEGO ↗ · 2026-10-29

Inside the set

03

Titanosaur does not always mean giant

The group contains differently sized sauropods. Patagotitan is a large example distinct from the film animal.

Patagotitan is a titanosaur, although not all titanosaurs were enormous. The Natural History Museum notes its 2.38-metre femur and Argentine Patagonian fossils. This scientific example is distinct from the set’s film creature: group membership alone does not establish one species’ dimensions.

Estimates have margins

Patagotitan weight varies with reconstruction method, not direct measurement of a living animal.

The museum gives Patagotitan mass estimates from 42,500 to 71,400 kilograms depending on method. Its remains are more complete than some other giant contenders, yet not a weighing of a living animal. Reconstruction depends on surviving fossils and models connecting skeleton with body.
