This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.

How we estimate times · sources and method

Two façades, tiny furnishings and contrasting colours. The estimate includes both shops and their accessories. The three central durations are model-specific editorial assessments. Planning ranges extend approximately from 65% to 145%, rounded to quarter-hours; they are not measured experience-level averages or guaranteed limits.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Diagon Alley ice-cream seller Florean Fortescue knows medieval wizarding history and descends from former headmaster Dexter Fortescue. Rowling explains that this knowledge originally prepared him for a later role in Harry’s search. A small character detail began as groundwork for a larger narrative purpose.

04

An unfinished storyline

Rowling considered having him provide clues about the Elder Wand and Ravenclaw’s diadem, but other characters eventually took that role.

Fortescue was meant to supply clues about the Elder Wand and Ravenclaw’s diadem. Rowling later preferred Phineas Nigellus Black and the Grey Lady for those revelations. Preparatory details remained after the intended function moved elsewhere, leaving traces of an abandoned plot.
