How we estimate times · sources and method

Editorial assessment: A white Porsche 911 Turbo 3.0 in Speed Champions form, with round headlights and the characteristic rear wing. The large rear element contrasts with the white bodywork. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks, subsequent play and any alternative models are excluded. For older sets, unnumbered bags or previously mixed pieces may prolong sorting. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Checked: 26 October 2026 · Method v1.0 · Limited reports; not a statistical average.

Porsche unveiled the Turbo in Paris in autumn 1974. The 1975 Turbo 3.0 specification lists a 2,994 cc boxer producing 260 PS. Presentation date and model year differ, identifying related but distinct commercial milestones.

A recognisable wing

The large fixed rear wing and widened wheel arches distinguished the Turbo from the base 911.

The Turbo 3.0 combined a fixed rear wing and wider fenders with harder springs and thicker anti-roll bars. Porsche’s documented museum example, among the first thirty production cars, still had its wider fenders welded by hand. The recognisable outline therefore concealed technical differences and specific manufacturing work.
