How we estimate times · sources and method
Two compact bodies, stickers, wheels and race accessories. Both cars included. The three central durations are model-specific editorial assessments. Planning ranges extend approximately from 65% to 145%, rounded to quarter-hours; they are not measured experience-level averages or guaranteed limits.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

The stories, places and inventions behind your build.
The first Charger
It debuted in mid-1966 with a fastback silhouette and full-width rear lights.
The first production Charger reached the American public in mid-1966, taking crisp styling and full-width taillamps from the 1965 concept. Its identity therefore predates the familiar 1968 shape. The name already had a design history before the model’s first major restyling introduced another recognisable appearance.
A new shape in 1968
The first major redesign arrived in 1968, beginning the generation containing the set’s 1970 Charger.
Charger’s first major restyling arrived for 1968, aiming to suggest Daytona banking performance within a road car. Smaller changes followed for 1969, then another grille change in 1970. These successive revisions explain why closely related Chargers can be recognisable without being identical model-year designs.
