This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.

How we estimate times · sources and method

Editorial assessment: A compact blue-and-black Bugatti Chiron with a dark windscreen and rounded-body details. Little extra components accompany the car. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks, subsequent play and any alternative models are excluded. For older sets, unnumbered bags or previously mixed pieces may prolong sorting. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

An eight-litre W16

The Chiron introduced in 2016 used an eight-litre W16 engine thoroughly reworked from the previous generation.

Bugatti redesigned almost every component of the eight-litre W16 for the 2016 Chiron. Four turbochargers operate in two stages, with two joining after the initial pair. Keeping the cylinder count did not mean simply repeating the previous engine’s complete technical arrangement.

Five hundred planned examples

At launch Bugatti announced a production limited to five hundred cars for the Chiron family.

At the 2016 launch, Bugatti announced five hundred Chirons and a €2.4-million net base price, with advance orders for one-third of production. These are launch figures rather than later variant or collector-market prices, describing the project before its first customer deliveries.

SET THE MOOD

A soundtrack for your build

· Selected for the subject and atmosphere
