A starting point for planning your build. Times for each experience level are editorial estimates, not measurements submitted by HowLongToBuild users.
Model-based editorial estimate
Intermediate
≈ 25 minSuggested range20 min – 40 minExperienced
≈ 20 minSuggested range10 min – 30 minBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
A 4+ project using Starter Bricks; adult assistance and play are not included. Estimated before release.

Super Mario Kart began the series on Super Nintendo in 1992. Nintendo’s interview has Hideki Konno describe a project for simultaneous two-player racing. Karts and Mario emerged during prototyping alongside the practical challenge of showing both players’ actions together.
A family rival
Bowser Jr. is Bowser’s son. Nintendo describes him as small but already very strong.

Bowser rules the Koopas and commands enemies including Goombas, Bullet Bills and Shy Guys. His son Bowser Jr. inherits considerable strength despite his size. Family and antagonism connect two distinct characters, whose shared identity does not make their roles, ages or silhouettes interchangeable.
