Intermediate
≈ 2 h 45 minSuggested range1 h 30 min – 4 h 30 minExperienced
≈ 1 h 45 minSuggested range1 h – 3 hBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
Editorial assessment: Sweet Mayhem's spherical starship. Small star and heart figures accompany the ship. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks, subsequent play and any alternative models are excluded. For older sets, unnumbered bags or previously mixed pieces may prolong sorting. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

An Oscar-nominated song
Everything Is Awesome, written by Shawn Patterson for the first The LEGO Movie, was nominated for Original Song at the 2015 Oscars.
The nomination was for Original Song and credited writer Shawn Patterson. The Academy separately identifies performers Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island. Writing and performing are different credits, even when listeners immediately associate a song with a particular voice.
On the Oscars stage
Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island performed the song during the ceremony on 22 February 2015.
The performance announcement brought together a Canadian pop duo and Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone’s comedy-music trio. The song moved from an animated film to a live show. The source also distinguishes being nominated for an Oscar from winning it.
