≈ 1 h 15 minSuggested range45 min – 2 h 15 minBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
Editorial assessment: An Arctic supply plane with vehicles and explorers. An orange truck accompanies the aircraft. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks, subsequent play and any alternative models are excluded. For older sets, unnumbered bags or previously mixed pieces may prolong sorting. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

An ocean at the North Pole
The Arctic is an ocean surrounded by land. Much of the northern polar ice floats on water.
Arctic sea ice floats on an ocean basin largely surrounded by land, which constrains its movement and expansion. The white surface is not a continent beneath an ice cap. Distinguishing ice over water from ice over land is fundamental to polar geography.
The opposite in the south
Antarctica is a continent covered by an ice sheet and surrounded by ocean. These contrasting geographies explain many polar differences.

Antarctica is a continent surrounded by ocean, with sea ice forming around its edges in addition to land ice. Opposite hemispheric seasons mean growth and retreat occur in different months. Similar-looking polar images can represent different geography and times of year.

A soundtrack for your build
· Selected for the subject and atmosphere
The Wind Rises accompanies flight and landscape. It gives a vehicle build a sense of space without conflating a real aircraft with the film’s subject.
