≈ 31 minSuggested range18 min – 50 minBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
Editorial assessment: Black Widow with red hair and a dark uniform. Black accessories flank the decorated suit. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks, subsequent play and any alternative models are excluded. For older sets, unnumbered bags or previously mixed pieces may prolong sorting. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

The team first came together against Loki
The Avengers made their comic-book debut in 1963. Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man and Wasp joined forces against Loki, a different line-up from the one many people remember from the films.
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s 1963 team included Ant-Man and Wasp among its founders. This comics origin differs from later screen versions. Changing membership and relationships between contrasting personalities became part of the Avengers’ identity, rather than the team being one fixed lineup.
Captain America arrived in issue four
Steve Rogers wasn’t part of the first issue’s team. His return from the ice came in Avengers #4, bringing back the character who would become one of its defining figures.

The Library of Congress traces Captain America from his 1941 debut to his Avengers reintroduction in 1964. He became team leader in issue 16. His return connected a wartime comics character with a new generation of Marvel heroes.
