This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.

How we estimate times · sources and method

Editorial assessment of the first illustrated arrangement: Two open lotus flowers and a pink bud form a small arrangement on green stems. The build requires small elements around the centres; timing includes all three stems. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks and subsequent play are excluded. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Checked: 26 October 2026 · Method v1.0 · Limited reports; not a statistical average.

03

The lotus effect

The leaf cleans itself.

Sacred lotus leaves repel water through a very fine surface structure that reduces adhesion. Moving droplets can collect dirt, producing the self-cleaning lotus effect. The mechanism depends on microscopic organisation, not simply on the leaf’s visible shape.

More than floating

Leaves above the pond.

Sacred lotus grows from muddy rhizomes, with leaves raised on stalks reaching one or two metres. Not all leaves float. Kew also explains that lotus is not closely related to waterlilies: a shared aquatic setting does not reveal evolutionary relationships.

SET THE MOOD

A soundtrack for your build
