A modern house in nature
Frank Lloyd Wright designed Fallingwater in 1935 for the Kaufmanns. It is not the set’s building, but a celebrated modern-house comparison.

Wright designed the Kaufmann weekend home in 1935. The main house was built in 1936–1938, followed by guest accommodation in 1939; family use continued until 1963. This architectural comparison does not identify these LEGO houses.
Two colours for unity
Wright limited Fallingwater’s palette to pale ochre concrete and Cherokee-red steel for an organic composition.

Preservation also required structural work: the cantilevers were strengthened in 2002. A suspended terrace’s apparent lightness depends on engineering and maintenance as well as on its visible architectural design.
