This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.

How we estimate times · sources and method

Tiny tiles and nine bases. One person completing one composition, not a group. The three central durations are model-specific editorial assessments. Planning ranges extend approximately from 65% to 145%, rounded to quarter-hours; they are not measured experience-level averages or guaranteed limits.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Checked: 23 ottobre 2026 · Method v1.0 · Limited reports; not a statistical average.

In 1980 Haring drew with white chalk on unused advertising panels covered in matte black paper in New York’s subway. The contrasting marks made figures legible on surfaces encountered daily by passing commuters.

A public laboratory

Between 1980 and 1985, hundreds of subway drawings developed his rapid-line language before commuters.

Haring made hundreds of subway drawings between 1980 and 1985, sometimes forty in a day. Commuters would stop and speak with him at work. This public laboratory combined experimentation in line with direct audience encounters, making conversation part of the experience alongside producing the images.

SET THE MOOD

A soundtrack for your build

· Selected for the subject and atmosphere

Plantasia’s synthesiser melodies have a light, curious character. We pair them with plants and imaginative shapes: a musical garden rather than a natural sound recording.

A build to spread over several sessions: choose the more understated option when you want the instructions to take centre stage. The music does not set your pace.
