≈ 1 h 45 minSuggested range1 h – 2 h 45 minBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
Different micro-builds and compact base connections. The three central durations are model-specific editorial assessments. Planning ranges extend approximately from 65% to 145%, rounded to quarter-hours; they are not measured experience-level averages or guaranteed limits.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Completed in 1958 at 333 metres, Tokyo Tower was then the tallest freestanding steel tower. Maeda Hisakichi’s project combined broadcasting with a tourist observatory, using height both to reach across the Kantō Plain and to offer views that established a civic landmark.

When Japanese television broadcasting began in 1953, individual companies built separate towers. Expected growth encouraged a shared transmission structure. Tokyo Tower consequently represents coordination in mass communications as well as the ambition to create a higher viewpoint over the capital.
