How we estimate times · sources and method

The tower, interiors and small parts need more attention than large wall sections. The range covers the complete castle. The three experience bands are cautious editorial assessments, not measured averages.

Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

SET THE MOOD

A soundtrack for your build

· Selected for the subject and atmosphere

Piano and orchestral colours turn everyday scenes into a small fantastic journey. We suggest them for imaginary worlds and narrative details rather than simply playing the subject’s theme tune.

A build to spread over several sessions: choose the more understated option when you want the instructions to take centre stage. The music does not set your pace.
