Intermediate
≈ 10 hSuggested range6 h – 16 hExperienced
≈ 7 hSuggested range4 h – 11 h 15 minBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
Editorial assessment of the first illustrated arrangement: The FIFA World Cup trophy becomes a gold-coloured sculpture on a green display base. The green section separates the trophy from its support and echoes the original’s colour contrast. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks and subsequent play are excluded. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

An Italian creation
The modern World Cup trophy was designed by Milanese sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga.
FIFA selected Milan sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga’s design from 53 proposals across seven countries. Two athletes raise the world in an eighteen-carat gold sculpture. Its ascending lines express the energy of victory, giving the trophy a visual narrative beyond recording winners.
Since the 1974 tournament
West Germany was the first national team to lift the new trophy, at the 1974 World Cup.

West Germany first lifted the new trophy in 1974. A replacement was required after Brazil retained the Jules Rimet trophy following its third victory in 1970. The modern original stays with FIFA instead, while champions receive a replica to keep.

A soundtrack for your build
· Selected for the building rhythm
Saxophone tone and space between phrases suggest an unhurried landscape. This is an atmospheric reading for natural forms and views, without assigning an undocumented geographical setting.

Intimate and spaciousA build to spread over several sessions: choose the more understated option when you want the instructions to take centre stage. The music does not set your pace.
