≈ 8 hSuggested range4 h 45 min – 13 hExperienced
≈ 5 h 30 minSuggested range3 h 15 min – 9 hBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
Editorial assessment: A Technic crawler crane with a long lattice boom. Repeated track links, boom sections and cable routing require patience and orderly checks. Two black tracks support the crane's upper structure and cab. A first build following the instructions, including normal piece finding; an adult may help when needed. Breaks, subsequent play and any alternative models are excluded. For older sets, unnumbered bags or previously mixed pieces may prolong sorting. No verified timed build: indicative values with substantial variation.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Three thousand tonnes
The real crane’s declared maximum capacity is three thousand tonnes, within specified configurations and conditions.
The LR 13000’s stated maximum capacity is 3,000 tonnes, not a promise for every load position. Liebherr separately lists lifting height and radius. Operation without derrick ballast still uses increased turntable ballast: it does not mean a crane with no counterweights.
Transported in pieces
Its transport design optimises components to four metres wide, with individual elements weighing up to seventy tonnes.
The crane must reach a site before working. Liebherr specifies individual transport components of no more than 70 tonnes, with ballast slabs arranged in a twenty-foot container format. The machine’s enormous working form depends on a deliberately planned division into transportable parts.

A soundtrack for your build

Electronic pulses and open melodies provide movement without a constant action-film crescendo. They accompany landscapes and travelling vehicles through a sense of exploration.
