≈ 45 minSuggested range15 min – 1 h 15 minBased on one person building the set for the first time, following the original instructions and using numbered bags where supplied. Includes normal piece-finding and minor adjustments; excludes long breaks, filming, dismantling and modifications. Sources may use different methods. This range is neither a statistical interval nor a limit: your build may take less or more time.
How we estimate times · sources and method
A short, separable structure with small creatures and a lever to check. The terrain blocks alone do not account for the whole build. The three central durations are model-specific editorial assessments. Planning ranges extend approximately from 65% to 145%, rounded to quarter-hours; they are not measured experience-level averages or guaranteed limits.
Sources do not always specify the builder’s experience. The three experience bands are our editorial assessment, based on the complexity of the set and individual accounts where available.

Collect scutes with a brush
The official armadillo introduction explained that the animal drops scutes periodically and when brushed. You do not need to kill it to obtain the material.
Java snapshot 23w51b introduced a passive armadillo that sheds scutes periodically and when brushed. Dispensers could brush it too. Obtaining the resource involved interacting with a living creature rather than killing it, connecting collection to the animal’s presence and behaviour within the game.
Armour for a wolf companion
Scutes are used to craft armour for a tamed wolf. The snapshot notes assigned putting it on and removing it to the owner, linking the item to the relationship with the animal.
The snapshot used scutes to craft armour for adult tamed wolves. Only the owner could equip it or remove it with shears; dispensers could not substitute. These experimental rules explain the feature’s introduction without promising that every initial detail remains unchanged in later versions.

C418’s textures leave room for a world growing one block at a time. This follows digital landscapes and free building with less urgency than an action score.
