FIND YOUR PACE
An evening, an afternoon or several weeks? It depends on the model and how you build. Here is how to use catalogue estimates without turning a relaxing build into a race.
A good first set is one you want to finish. Your interests, available time and preferred building style matter more than simply finding the lowest piece count.
For this guide, an afternoon means roughly four hours of active building, excluding breaks. It is a planning budget: the same model may take one person an afternoon and another several sessions.
THE PROJECT
HowLongToBuild helps you decide what to build and make time to enjoy it.
BEHIND THE PROJECT
I love building, video games, films and TV, and there’s always something new that sparks my curiosity. Welcome to HowLongToBuild!
This site brings together two things I enjoy: building and keeping track of my experiences. Whether it’s LEGO®, games, films or TV, I’ve always wanted a way to organise the things I love while still enjoying them.
I started by making something I wanted to use myself, hoping it could also help dedicated fans and people discovering LEGO® sets for the first time. Even if you’re simply looking for a gift for a friend or family member and don’t know where to start, I hope this site makes choosing a little easier.
The project is still taking shape, one brick at a time. Suggestions are always welcome: report a bug or an inaccuracy, suggest a feature or request a missing set. Your feedback can help make it more useful for everyone.
